Lauren visited us in March of 2023 for a NinjaFit class, and it’s safe to say that she and her family were hooked! For the last 2+ years they have been faithful gym members, competitors, and have volunteered to help us with parades and more! Lauren is super strong, regularly winning competitions and teaching our “Strong Like a Girl” class, as well as our “Mini Ninja” and Level 1 classes. While she just joined our staff in March of 2025, she’s already our South Apex Marketing Assistant, and continues to crush it on and off the ninja course.
Lauren was drawn to our community feel at Rock Solid and how welcoming everyone was. She says that it felt like they were able to build a “family” of other parents and coaches, and appreciates how everyone cheers each other on in the sport of Ninja.
Lauren stays very active and creative. She enjoys Rock Climbing as well as ninja, and loves being crafty with activities like crocheting, cooking (ask about some of her cookie recipes!), gardening, and writing poetry. She’s played soccer for over twenty years (since 3rd grade!), has done rock climbing for four years, and ninja for almost three! She loves “grippy-type” obstacles, and is proud of how she’s been able to get big laches to reverse grips or forward grips.
Lauren comes to us with an extensive portfolio, from being a Transportation Planner with the NC Department of Transportation, to being a 3rd grade Teacher, to her work as a Software Engineer, and a stay-at-home mom! Her teaching experience has helped make her a fantastic Ninja Coach. She enjoys seeing her kids, as well as other young ninjas, figure out how to do the obstacles, and seeing their faces light up when they conquer something new.
Lauren wants to encourage fellow ninjas that “Small steps still make progress.” Every time you try an obstacle, you improve just a little bit, and soon, you can make it!
We’re so thankful for your contributions to the gym for the last several years, Lauren, and are so thankful to finally have you as part of our team!
