Kai Wilbanks has been part of the Rock Solid community for several years, first joining as a day camp participant in 2021. His enthusiasm for the gym quickly grew, leading him to enroll in classes, progress through the Competition Clinic, and eventually become a dedicated member of the Rock Solid Competition Team.
Inspired by the coaches who mentored and motivated him, Kai developed a passion for helping others in the same way. He began shadowing experienced coaches and saw firsthand the commitment they brought to supporting each athlete. This experience fueled his desire to give back and become a coach himself.
In January 2025, Kai officially joined the Rock Solid staff as a ninja coach. He now leads athletes across all class levels and also contributes to day camps and special events. His goal is to help others grow as athletes and individuals, just as his coaches did for him. With his energy and determination, Kai is a valuable member of both the coaching squad and the Competition Team.
A highlight of Kai’s ninja journey so far has been competing at the NSCs alongside his teammates—an experience that deepened his commitment to the sport and the Rock Solid community. For him, the best part of working at Rock Solid is being surrounded daily by friends and teammates, all growing and training together in a supportive environment. He considers it the perfect place to have his first job.
Outside the gym, Kai enjoys weightlifting, Parisi, staying active, playing video games, and spending time with friends. Currently in high school, he aspires to attend NC State and later enroll in the Police Academy.
One quote that continues to motivate him comes from Kobe Bryant:
